Attorney State Perspectives
Welcome to the Attorney State Perspectives special report.
While industry members in different areas of the country may have their own local customs, practices and laws governing how they do things, everyone has been tackling some similar issues over the last few years — pandemic realities (with all the busyness and restrictions that entails), and the move toward completely electronic transactions. However, the local customs, practices and laws shape the way these issues are addressed in each jurisdiction.
When that jurisdiction is an attorney state, you have to balance both the laws governing real estate transactions themselves, as well as the laws and rules governing attorneys in those states. Not only that, but they are having to adapt new technology to their business practices and adjust to a new, more national, real estate business landscape that is impacting the local attorney conveyancer’s business model.
